Road trip! (for cinnagene)

[As Kim sees it, Omaha is cold and dark and, for Jimmy, isolating, lonely and depressing. She's not typically one for road trips, but this is one she's been looking forward to. Not only does she get to spend it with Jimmy, she also hopefully gets to see him happy. It's always been what she's wanted for Jimmy. He's been through so much. Even though a lot of it was, admittedly, Jimmy's own fault, she wouldn't wish his situation on anybody, and definitely not him.

They've been driving all day, taking turns behind the wheel of Jimmy's car, and the sun is setting. Kim's at the wheel, looking at the time.]

We should probably find somewhere to stop for dinner.

[She eats in silence for a few seconds before trying to start the conversation again.]

They have alligators there. I've heard they dress them up and put them in the parades,although my source might have been unreliable.

[cinnagene]

[ He doesn't answer immediately, thinking if he heard anything about that. ] They're probably stuffed or something. Can't imagine health and safety wouldn't rain on that parade.

I don't know...these are people who tolerate public drunkenness and bury their dead above ground.

I'm not sure that makes it more or less likely that a live alligator gets involved.

[Welp. So much for trying to lighten the mood. Kim stabs at her salad.]

They have boat tours. If we'd like to have some nature with our drinking.

[cinnagene]

[ He lets out a quite almost laugh. ] Then we'll get our live alligator.

[twoyearplan]

[She smiles.]

True. And it might be a nice easy thing to do while we recover from the massive hangovers in store for us.

[cinnagene]

Yeah, we're gonna need a gallon of water or something.

[twoyearplan]

Each. Which, you know, good. Water is something New Orleans has a lot of.

[cinnagene]

Hey. You can drink all the swamp water you like, I'm sticking to the clean stuff.

Which, what, they ship in from Mississippi?

[cinnagene]

Evian, then.

[twoyearplan]

That works.

[She goes back to her salad...and as she chews, she slides her foot to run alongside his. She glances up with a small, sly smile.]

[cinnagene]

[ He smiles to himself before looking up at her. ]

Good.

[twoyearplan]

[They've been on the road all day, with only a couple stops, a couple opportunities for physical contact. It feels nice to have a little contact now, even if it's just their feet.]

Mmm. This is good. I think I might spell my salads with Zs from now on.

[cinnagene]

Don't ya mean Zaladz?

[twoyearplan]

[She points her fork at him.]

Exactly.

[cinnagene]

[ He nods. ]

It is good zalad.

[twoyearplan]

Who knew, right?

[She takes another bite, chews, swallows.]

So...is there anything in particular you're interested in doing?

[cinnagene]

[ He gives a light shrug. ] Mostly I just wanna let loose. See... if I got any [ Saul ] 'me' under the moustache.

[twoyearplan]

Let loose how?

[cinnagene]

[ He opens his mouth to answer, but loses heart before he begins to speak. ] I don't know. I'm hoping to be inspired.

[twoyearplan]

Well, it's an inspirational place.

[cinnagene]

[ He smiles a little at her. ]

[twoyearplan]

And we're only going to be there for a couple days. Not like we'll see anybody again.

[She gives him a knowing smile, fairly certain he's talking about conning.]
